Shortly after I wrote my little summary of today’s acupuncture appointment (see Lab Assignment #3), I became extremely sleepy. I couldn’t imagine how I could possibly stay awake, so I went into the bedroom and slept. I woke up 3 1/2 hours later and definitely feel different. I still have neck and head pain, but my shoulders and upper back seem a little looser. And I slept SO deeply – I think I may even have dreamt (people with fibromyalgia don’t usually sleep deeply enough to dream), but I don’t remember for sure.
Those little needles definitely did something.
The bad news is that I slept through my usual blogging time, and I still feel pretty groggy. I’ll write more today if I can, but I might need to wait until tomorrow.
Interesting stuff.
This is most excellent news.
I’m not sure if I’m ready to commit to “most excellent” yet, but I’m optimistic. I actually feel quite awful, with a very bad headache, neck pain, and occasional flashes of nausea. But I’m happy that my body responded to the treatment, even if it will take some time to get a completely positive result. But man – anyone who asks an acupuncturist to help her with insomnia should make a point of clearing her schedule for the rest of the day.
