Victory!

For the fourth week in a row, I remembered trash day. Medical leave is all about the baby steps.

That’s great! It sounds like the acupuncture is doing something. I hope so! I am going soon! 🙂

On Tuesday I went in with a killer migraine, and the acupuncturist just… got rid of it. The best part is that ever since my school switched around its insurance plans a couple of months ago a one-hour acupuncture session actually costs less than an insurance copay to see my doctor!

Tara – any luck with the community acupuncture place in Richmond?

Wow–that’s great. Maybe my insurance covers it too. I haven’t expected it, so I haven’t checked. I did call the community acupuncture, and the owner called back when I wasn’t home, but then last week I had student conferences, and I was never here to take a return call, so I haven’t tried again. Also, I thought I had an appointment at the sports med place on Monday, and I wanted to get an official diagnosis before my acupuncture appointment, but then they called to reschedule. I now have to wait another week for that. I am going though-am more determined after reading about yoru experience!@!. Have a good weekend!@! The little one and I are going to a Mother Daughter Tea at the dance studio today. The older girls will dance for us, and they will give the little girls ballet dolls. I hope it’s fun.

Tara – actually, my acupuncture is NOT covered by insurance and is STILL cheaper than a doctor’s copay. With the sliding scale, I pay $25 for an hour of acupuncture without any insurance reimbursement (the maximum on the sliding scale is $40), and with our new insurance plan my copays are $25 for my regular doctor and $45 for specialists. Some plans do cover it, though, so it would be worth checking it out.

The Mother Daughter tea sounds like fun. Hope all is well!
